Description of Industry

Metals and Minerals industry is comprised of companies involved in locating, excavating and processing metals and minerals such as aluminum, gold, silver, copper, iron, steel, lead and precious metals and minerals. Global reserves of metals and minerals are mined for profit and used in jewelry-making, industrial applications and investments.

Metals and Minerals industry, as defined by GICS sub-industry classification (Metals & Mining), includes Aluminum, Diversified Metals & Mining, Copper, Gold, Precious Metals & Minerals, Silver and Steel
